I began my MS program in Soils and Biogeochemistry in Fall 2013. I started off quantifying environmental impacts--particularly erosion--stemming from biofuel crop production with the California Biomass Collaborative. I'll be working with Toby O'Geen to extend my erosion work to the spatial scale, focusing on the farmed upland regions along the coast and in the Sierra Nevada foothills. The ultimate goal is to develop and map an erosion potential index, and to use this to investigate how changing land use may influence sediment delivery to waterways.
