Dylan Beaudette is a graduate student working on a Ph.D degree in the Soils and Biogeochemistry group at UC Davis. Dylan received a Bachelor's of Science degree from UC Davis in Environmental Resource Science, with an emphasis on remote sensing and GIS. He is currently working on new techniques for conducting Soil Survey operations in rugged terrain through the use of soil-environmental modeling and cost surface analysis. Dylan is also interested in the potential Soil Survey has to become a valuable educational tool. Open source software is used in all of his research, data management, analysis, and presentation tasks.
